Knit our Picot Edged Tunic Dress suitable to fit a child from 6 months to 3 years old.

Design

The dress has an easy to knit repeat pattern to the skirt and picot edgings. The front and back are knitted separately on straight needles and sewn together.  Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline and armhole edges.

Sizes

The pattern includes 3 sizes to fit child: 6-12 mths, 1-2 yrs and 2-3 years old.

Yarn

The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).

The picture shows the 6-12 months size knitted using Rico Baby Classic DK in shades White (01) and Steel Grey (44).

Skill

Intermediate.  Written instructions provided.

Tension

22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension. 

Needles

Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
