Knit our Rudolph the Reindeer Bodysuit and Hat for Dolls 16-21 inches or 41-53 cms or Baby up to 3 months old.
Design:
The Bodysuit has twisted rib borders and Rudolph motif to the front. The bodysuit is knitted on straight needles as one piece to the yoke where the sleeves are joined in. Stitches are picked up to complete the opening at the back. The Hat is also knitted on straight needles. It has two small earflaps, a matching Rudolph motif and a pompom. The Rudolph motif is knitted using a chart.
Sizes:
The pattern includes 2 sizes to fit Doll: 16-18 (19-21) inches or 41-46 (48-53) cms. Also suitable for a Newborn (0-3 month old) Baby.
Yarn:
The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply)
Main picture shows outfit knitted using Stylecraft Special DK in shades: Cream (1005) Green (1116), Red (Lipstick 1246), Black (1002), Camel (1420) and Dark Brown (1004).
Skill:
Intermediate. Written instructions provided, but experience needed to work from a chart for the motif.
Tension:
22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.
Needles:
Sizes 3.25 mm and 4.0 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.
Other requirements:
3.25mm crochet hook for Hat edging
4 (5) buttons for the Bodysuit
Stitch holders and stitch markers
