Christmas Blanket with Rudolph Motifs

Knitted using double knitting wool

Pattern is written in English

Knitting pattern is sent as a digital download PDF

Knit our Rudolph the Reindeer Christmas Blanket.

Design

The blanket has cute Rudolph motifs and basketweave stitch squares which are knitted in 5 strips.  The strips are sewn together to form the blanket and the moss stitch edging is added by picking up stitches on each side.  You will need a 3.25mm circular needle for the edging (but you knit back and forth in rows) or longer length 3.25mm straight needles. To complete the blanket is a plain stocking stitch back which adds extra warmth and provides a lovely finish.  The front and back are sewn together.

Sizes

The finished size is 79 (H) x 89 (W) in cms or 31 (H) x 35 (W) in inches.

Yarn

The pattern uses DK wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).

The picture shows the Blanket knitted using:

Stylecraft Special DK shades: Red (Lipstick 1246), White (1001), Camel (1420), Dark Brown (1004) and Black (1002).

Skill

Intermediate.  Written instructions provided, but experience needed of working from a chart for the motif.

Tension

22 sts and 30 rows to 4 inches/10 cm (stocking stitch) on 4 mm needles or size needed to achieve stated tension.

Needles

Sizes 3.25 mm and 4 mm (USA 3 and 6) straight needles are required.

1 x 3.25 mm circular needle (for edging)

Other requirements

Please note the pattern is written using British terminology and is a digital download PDF.
